Corporate Accountability stops transnational corporations from devastating democracy, perpetuating systemic racism, trampling human rights, and destroying our planet. We are building a world rooted in justice where corporations answer to people, not the other way around — a world where every person has access to clean water, healthy food, a safe place to live, and the opportunity to reach their full human potential.

We are deeply committed to prioritizing the leadership of those who bear the brunt of corporate abuse: women, people of color, nonbinary people, low-income people, people in the Global South, LGBTQ+, and disabled folks around the world. Therefore folks holding these identities are strongly encouraged to apply for our internship program.

Our internships are a unique opportunity for you to gain valuable corporate campaigning and nonprofit experience, cultivate your interests in social justice, strengthen your understanding of a fast-paced campaign organization, and gain critical skills and experience. In the Spring 2025 Development Internship, you will intern alongside our dynamic, passionate development team and learn skills such as data management, how to use Salesforce, and so much more! Interns will come away from the experience ready to take action and apply these skills to the social change issues they want to address in their local communities or schools. Additionally, all interns will have the opportunity to join our Intern Alumni Network. This is a closed group of former Corporate Accountability interns, where information about job opportunities, skill development (such as resume and cover letter writing), and ways to take action will be shared.

As the Development Intern, you will work with our team of fundraisers and membership outreach staff as they organize and engage our members across the country in support of our campaigns. You will also help build and refine our list of current and potential major donors to support Corporate Accountability campaigns.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the Legacy survey responses: collect, sort, and enter data for the project;

  • Research potential prospects and donors, identifying giving history, areas of passion and interests, and whether they are a good donor for the organization;

  • Support development administrative systems and coordination, including organizing donor data and information, note taking, and providing rapid response;

  • Support with monitoring democracy-focused foundations to see how they update their funding priorities;

  • Assist in setting up the majors team with the tools needed for a successful year in fundraising;

  • Connect with current donors, maintaining relationships and making personalized gifts;

  • Participate in campaign and organization building activities;

  • Support with Spring Phonebank; participate in phoning and support with data entry.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights, the environment, and public health;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially on the phone;

  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle several tasks while meeting deadlines;

  • Strong database management skills and experience using Google Suites or Microsoft Office;

  • Experience or interest in organizing or fundraising.
